Visit by Mr. Martin Gassner-Herz MP of the FDP to
RMA Rheinau GmbH & Co. KG:
Focus on the world’s largest hydrogen test bench and energy transition topics
Last Thursday, July 20, 2023, Mr. Martin Gassner-Herz MdB of the FDP visited RMA Rheinau GmbH & Co. KG to find out about the world’s largest hydrogen test bench. This test bench was opened on June 29, 2023 ceremoniously put into operation and has already aroused great interest in the energy transition community.
During the visit, various current topics relating to the energy transition were discussed, including hydrogen, biogas, district heating and geothermal energy. Mr. Gassner-Herz and the management of RMA Rheinau also discussed the current bureaucratic hurdles of legislation as well as the use of green electricity and the associated purchase problems.
Mr. Truttenbach, Managing Director and owner of RMA Rheinau, is convinced that hydrogen will not play a major role in the private household sector in the short term. Instead, the company is focusing on building a European hydrogen network with a focus on industry. Mr. Truttenbach also emphasized that the biggest problem at the moment is growth and the high order backlog, as there is a lack of skilled workers. This will be one of the biggest challenges for SMEs in the coming years.
Mr. Martin Gassner-Herz was deeply impressed by the technical solution of the hydrogen test bench and hopes for a faster expansion of the hydrogen infrastructure as a whole. He praised the fact that strong companies, such as RMA Rheinau GmbH & Co. KG from Ortenau, are making the energy transition possible.
The RMA Group has established itself in the field of energy transition and continues to pursue ambitious goals with regard to the development and use of hydrogen technologies. The Group is proud to contribute to the transformation of the energy sector and to drive sustainability in the industry.
